Following months of prolonged negotiations and marginally improved but below RPI offers, Unite members decided to enact our overwhelming mandate for strike action. After taking two days of solid action at sites across England and Scotland in November, we finally achieved an 8% – 24 month offer that Unite representatives agreed to put to members. The offer was overwhelmingly accepted at each major site.
During the course of our campaign leading up to the strike, union membership grew by several hundred members at our Edinburgh site building on the previous growth from our successful pensions dispute at the end of 2023.
