Jules Cowin & Ray Morell
Jules Cowin and Ray Morell are standing as the Scottish territorial candidates for Unite’s Executive Council.
We support the priorities outlined in the Back to the Workplace manifesto, a clear commitment to refocus our union on what matters most to members: jobs, pay and conditions.
Back to the Workplace is not a slogan. It is a direction of travel and a commitment to delivery. It means a union rooted in workplaces rather than internal politics, focused on winning real improvements for members, and led by representatives who are visible, accountable and connected to reps and workers on the ground.
Across Scotland, Unite members work in industries that are vital to our economy and our communities. While each sector faces its own challenges, they all share a common need for strong workplace organisation, effective representation and a union that stands firmly alongside its members.
Between us, we bring decades of experience in workplace organising, negotiation, health and safety, sector coordination and member-led campaigning. We understand the realities workers face because we come from the workplaces ourselves.
Scotland’s members deserve Executive Council representatives who will listen, engage and fight for them. Representatives who will strengthen workplace structures, support reps and ensure members’ voices help shape the direction of our union.
That is why we are standing.
Together, we are committed to helping build a Unite in Scotland that is strong, democratic, respectful and firmly rooted where it belongs, in the workplace, with its members.
