We want to sincerely thank every branch that nominated us.
Your nomination is not just a formality. It is a vote of confidence in the kind of union we believe in, visible, accountable, rooted in the workplace and always putting members first.
Ballot papers will be landing very soon, and every single vote matters.
This election is about building on the leadership and direction set by Sharon Graham and her teams Back to the Workplace mandate – a union focused on winning better pay, defending jobs, strengthening workplace organisation and holding employers to account.
We have seen what that focus delivers:
• More money in members’ pockets
• Stronger combine organisation
• Real leverage in negotiations
• A union that backs its members in action, not just words
We are committed to taking that energy forward in Scotland, strengthening workplace organisation, improving communication and ensuring members’ voices are heard loudly and clearly on the Executive Council, directly shaping decisions.
This is not just about our region. Across sectors and nations, with equalities at the centre of the agenda, candidates are standing together on the Back to the Workerplace slate. We are proud to be part of that team and we ask members to back the whole slate. Strong regions, strong sectors and strong equalities voices working together is how we build real power across our union.
This is not a one off election. If elected, we commit to being visible, accountable and accessible to the region, regularly engaging with reps and activists, listening to members and reporting back. If elected, we will organise regular report back meetings. Representation should never be distant, it should be rooted in the workplace and connected to the people we serve.
When your ballot paper arrives, please use it to vote for your chosen candidates. Encourage others to vote. Talk about why this matters. Invite us along to your branch meeting, in person or on Zoom, we welcome the opportunity to understand the issues you are facing to work out where our support is needed.
